Job Overview

Accenture LLP has multiple openings for the position of Application Development Specialist in Arlington, VA to design the technical solution and provide technical insight for custom conversions, interfaces, extensions, and reports within the PeopleSoft HCM and Financials product suites. S/he will perform the following duties: build and unit test proposed technical solutions; support system and user acceptance testing activities by providing technical insight to functional team members while analyzing and debugging issues identified; deploy and help stabilize conversions, interfaces, extensions, and reports within the PeopleSoft HCM and Financials product suites; provide guidance and mentorship to junior level technical team members with their respective design, build, and testing activities; participate in reviewing the technical design, build, unit test, and other documentation produced by the technical team; work with resources on both the development and functional teams to address any comments, concerns, or gaps in the design documentation; raise questions or impediments to supervisors and produce status reporting in alignment with project standards in a timely and ongoing manner.

Qualifications

This position requires at least a bachelors degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering (any), or a closely related field plus 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Systems Analyst or in related IT positions, including the following experience: 3 years of experience working with Structured Query Language (SQL) within industry standard relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server, or DB2) in order to insert, update, and retrieve data from the clients Oracle databases; 3 years of experience in using modern object-oriented programming languages and PeopleSofts programming language to create or update custom applications within a PeopleSoft system; 3 years of experience utilizing technical tools and technologies required to perform technical activities within a PeopleSoft software development kit, including Application Engine, Structured Query Reporter, Application Designer, Component Interface, Integration Broker, Query, Business Intelligence Publisher, and PeopleTools in order to deliver conversions, interfaces, extensions, and reports; and 1 year of experience utilizing business processes within PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) product suite and PeopleSoft Financials (FIN) product suite to develop and test proper functionality of software.
